The XIX Festa do Botelo will be held on January 19
The Festa do Botelo will have a new edition, number nineteen in 2019. In this month in which traditional pig slaughters are beginning to proliferate throughout the Valdeorras region, the O Barco City Council is finalizing the preparations for the gastronomic festival of this town. Next January 19 we will have the opportunity to taste the botelos, which at this point are already prepared and in the smoke-curing phase. A process that lasts, between preparation and lasting about a month. Afterwards, the botelo, the pig’s stomach stuffed with marinated ribs, will be cooked with potatoes and vegetables to be enjoyed at the festival that each year brings together more than 1,200 people between the Calabagueiros Pavilion and the restaurants of the town of Barca.
