The Festa do Botelo, on January 20 with Carrabouxo as preacher, Concepción Moral as honored cook and the performance of Amancio Prada
The Festa do Botelo will take place this year on January 20, with the cartoonist Xosé Lois González Vázquez, “Carrabouxo”, as announcer and the tribute to Concepción Moral, cook of the legendary Mesón JR 2000. The singer-songwriter Amancio Prada stars in the Botelo concert, which is held on the 21st from 8:00 p.m., at the Lauro Olmo Theatre.
The activities of the program prepared for this XXII edition of the Festa do Botelo begin already on January 13, with the sale of tickets at the Lauro Olmo Theatre. As in previous years, they will go on sale from 8.30am that day, with a maximum of 10 tickets per person and sold on a strict first-come, first-served basis at the Theatre. To facilitate this process, there will be a number delivery system as you approach the theater door. A total of 1,150 tickets will be sold, at 25 euros each.
The program continues on January 18, with the screening of the film “Pastry Chef and Chef”, in afternoon and evening sessions (at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.). On Friday the 19th there will be theater, with the play “Run Baby Run”, written and interpreted by the artist Fátima Delgado from Barque.
On Saturday, January 20, the activities of the Festa do Botelo will begin with the event at the Lauro Olmo Theater, at 12 noon and presented by the actress Fátima Delgado. In that event, the honorable mention was given to Concepción Moral Calvo, cook at Mesón JR 2000, where for years the best tapas in the area could be tasted. Next, cartoonist Xosé Lois González Vázquez, “Carrabouxo”, will read the proclamation. The Orfeón Valdeorrés will provide the musical score for the event.
As every year, from 2.30 pm the popular lunch will take place in the Calabagueiros pavilion with the usual Botelo menu, accompanied by sausages, potatoes and cabbage. The lunch will have the musical entertainment of the groups who will then be responsible for continuing the festivities with the already traditional tavern songs in the local bars. These tavern songs will be held between 19:00 and 22:30. On the 21st, at the Lauro Olmo Theater and at 8:00 p.m., there will be a performance by Amancio Prada. Tickets for this concert, at the price of 10 euros, will be sold in advance at Ton y Son, and from one hour before at the Theater box office.
