Almost 200 people tasted Botelo do Barco at the VII Botelo Festival in Vigo
On Saturday, March 4, a new edition of the Boat Festival was held in Vigo. A total of 180 people participated in the meal held at the Coia Hotel, where a menu consisting of stewed soup, maravallas empanada, botelo and chorizos with turnips and cachelos and, for dessert, bica was served. Everything, washed down with Mencía wines from the D.O. Valdeorras.
Among those attending this VII Festival in Vigo were the president of the Pontevedra Provincial Council, Carmela Silva, the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, the general secretary of the Atlantic Axis, Xoán Vázquez Mao, the painter Antón Pulido and the writer and editor Bieito Ledo. The Mayor, Alfredo García, and the Councilor for Culture, Margarida Pizcueta, attended on behalf of the Council.
The celebration of the Botelo do Barco Festival in A Coruña and Vigo responds to the interest of the Barco Council to make this unique sausage known throughout the Galician territory. It is a festival of Galician tourist interest that is increasingly rooted in the region of Valdeorras and in the rest of Galicia, and which is expected to be recognized as a Festival of National Tourist Interest in the future.
This party is the last of those planned for this year, with great attendance in all cases.
